A Second Chance at Education

Heeramani, a 12-year-old school dropout from Mailburu village, Khunti, comes from a family of eight struggling to meet even their daily food needs. Poverty forced her to leave school and withdraw socially, but her dream of education never faded.

Through Ashray’s Literacy Centre, Heeramani has received a second chance. She is now learning to read and write again, regaining her confidence, and preparing for re-enrolment into a mainstream school. Her story reflects how Ashray’s safe learning spaces are restoring hope and rebuilding futures for vulnerable children.
